NACCHO Funding Opportunity

NACCHO invites local health departments (LHDs) to submit applications for support in building or strengthening a coalition of community partners and developing a community action plan that addresses chronic disease prevention through policy, systems, and environmental change strategies.

NACCHO plans to award funding to 10 LHDs. Each of the 10 LHDs will receive an initial one-time funding of up to $15,000 toward travel to a Coaches Meeting and Action Institute. Upon successful completion of a community action plan, funded LHDs will receive an additional  $25,000 toward implementation. More »

 
Scholarships Available

The 8th Annual New Partners for Smart Growth Conference will take place January 22–24, 2009, in Albuquerque, NM. This conference offers an interactive learning experience and networking opportunities among participants from multiple disciplines. NACCHO’s Chronic Disease Prevention Project is pleased to offer three (3) scholarships to local health department members to attend the conference. More »

CDC's Steps Program

The Centers for Disease Control's Steps Program is a national, multilevel program that provides funding for communities to implement chronic disease prevention and health promotion programs targeting diabetes, obesity, and asthma. More »

NACCHO hosted "Successful Strategies to Address Chronic Disease: Lessons Learned from the Steps Program" webcasts in September and October.
