The MAPP Workshop will provide an interactive forum for learning about the Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) process. Participants will learn why MAPP advances public health practice through community organizing, strategic planning, and systems change. Through table top exercises and group discussion, participants will gain an understanding of the competencies and skills, such as facilitation, dialogue, and partnership building, which are essential to successful MAPP implementation. The workshop will also address common challenges and strategies for overcoming obstacles often experienced by MAPP communities. NACCHO is seeking proposals from local health departments that are working with local/state HIT stakeholders to develop HIEs/RHIOs, or who have demonstrated advanced applications of public health informatics systems, and standards in their day-to-day operations and established partnerships with healthcare and emergency preparedness partners.
Funded sites will be expected to produce a detailed report of findings and recommendations for improving information management and exchange across their local, regional, or state public health and healthcare systems by November 30, 2008. More » |
