Join the RAND Center for Public Health Preparedness for a live webinar on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, on applying quality improvement (QI) methods to public health emergency preparedness.
- Understand how your agency can use QI methods to identify areas for improvement and to develop solutions.
- Learn about the experience of a pilot QI learning collaborative in public health emergency preparedness.
- Learn about using small scale drills for performance assessment and continuous improvement.
The RAND Public Health Preparedness team will also preview a new interactive CD-ROM, PREPARE for Pandemic Influenza: A Quality Improvement Toolkit, that will be released in late November. This FREE Toolkit is a collection of strategies, tips, and resources designed to assist state and local public health professionals in applying a QI approach to their emergency preparedness activities, particularly for pandemic influenza preparedness.

Tracks 2009 will serve as the platform for CDC to officially launch its National Environmental Public Health Tracking Network. This is a nationwide network of integrated health and environmental data to be used to provide information in support of actions that improve the health of communities.
Anticipated attendees are any person or organization engaged in the National Environmental Public Health Tracking Program or interested in learning more about tracking. This may include representatives from federal, state, and local public health agencies; federal, state, and local environmental agencies; federal, state, and local policymakers: public health and environmental non-governmental organizations; academic institutions; professional associations; advocacy organizations; and community-based organizations.
