Mental Health Parity Legislation Passed
October 2008
In a victory for mental health and public health advocates, Congress passed the Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008. NACCHO also submitted comments opposing the Bush Administration's proposed Provider Conscience regulations.

Public Health Surveillance Legislation Introduced
September 2008
NACCHO has joined other public health partners to advocate for public health surveillance legislation. A resolution on public health prevention gained support in advance of next year's expected debate on health reform.
